Drivers in and around South Gloucestershire will have 24 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around South Gloucestershire will have 24 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And seven of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that nine closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M5, from midnight, August 31 to 6am October 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 17 to junction 14 - offside narrow lanes in place for bridge deck refurbishment works.

M5, from midnight, August 30 to 6am October 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 14 to junction 17 - offside narrow lanes in place for bridge deck refurbishment works.

M32, from midnight, March 26 to 5am November 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32, junction 1 to M4, junction 19 and M4, junction 19 to 23 used by GWR Railway Replacement Buses for Bristol Parkway to Newport route.

M5, from 5am March 25 to 5am November 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 17 to 16 - narrow lanes for SMART motorway improvements.

M4, from 5am March 17 2023 to 5am January 21 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 19 to 20 - narrow lanes including 24/7 closure of offside running lane for SMART motorway improvements.

M4, from 5am March 11 2023 to 5am January 21 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 to 19 - narrow lanes including 24/7 closure of offside running lane for SMART motorway improvements.

M4, from midnight, August 30 2023 to 6am May 22 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 14 to junction 17 including access roads from M4 and M5, junction 16 exit slip road - 50mph speed restriction in place for bridge deck refurbishment works.

M4, from midnight, August 31 2023 to 6am May 22 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 17 to junction 14 including access roads from M4 and M5, junction 17 and junction 16 entry slip roads - 50mph speed restriction in place for bridge deck refurbishment works.

M4, from midnight, August 31 2023 to 6am May 22 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 exit slip road to M5 northbound, junction 15 - 24hr lane closure for bridge deck refurbishment works.

And a further 15 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M32, from 8pm September 11 to 6am September 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 to 19 - carriageway closed for SMART motorway improvements, diversion via M5 southbound, exit, junction 16, A38, A4174, M32 northbound, join M4.

M4, from 8pm September 11 to 6am September 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 entry slip road from M5 northbound, junction 15 closed for SMART motorway improvement works, diversion via M4 westbound, exit, junction 22, M4 eastbound to junction 20.

M4, from 8pm September 11 to 6am September 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 entry slip road from M5 southbound, junction 15 closed for SMART motorway improvements, diversion via M4 westbound, exit, junction 22 return to M4 to junction 20.

M4, from 9pm September 11 to 6am September 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 23 to 22 Prince of Wales Bridge - carriageway closure for bridge maintenance, diversion via M48 Severn bridge.

M4, from 9pm September 11 to 6am September 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 Both Directions, junction 18 to junction 19 lane closures for bridge construction.

M32, from 9pm September 11 to 6am September 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 northbound, junction 1 exit slip road lane closure for horticultural works.

M4, from 9pm September 13 to 6am September 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 23 to 22 Prince of Wales Bridge - lane closure for structure maintenance.

M4, from 10pm September 13 to 6am September 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 22 to 23 Prince of Wales Bridge - carriageway closure for structure maintenance, diversion via M48 Severn Bridge.

M32, from 9pm September 14 to 6am September 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 19 to 20 carriageway closure for SMART motorway improvements, diversion via M32 exit, junction 1, A4174, A38, join M5 northbound, at, junction 16, re-join M4.

A4, from 10pm September 14 to 6am September 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 entry slip road - carriageway closure for horticulture works, diversion via A4 Bristow Broadway to Portway roundabout, M5 northbound, exit, junction 17 and return southbound.

A46, from 8am September 15 to 4pm September 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 Both Directions M4, junction 18 to Tadwick Verge works for horticulture.

M48, from 6am September 16 to 8pm September 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M48 westbound, junction 1 to 2 Severn Bridge lane closure for structure maintenance works.

M4, from 9pm September 18 to 6am September 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 21 exit slip closed for structure maintenance. Diversion via, junction 23a and M48 eastbound.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
