Road closures: almost two dozen for South Gloucestershire drivers this week

Drivers in and around South Gloucestershire will have 23 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And six of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that seven closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A46, from midnight, February 10 to 11pm March 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 from M4, junction 18 to A420 Cold Ashton used as a diversion route for Wiltshire closure of A429.

M4, from 10pm March 11 to 6am March 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4, junction 17 to 18 westbound, lane closure for drainage works.

M4, from 9am February 16 to 3.30pm March 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 9 to 20 hard shoulder closure in both directions for horticulture works. Avoiding all other works.

M48, from 7pm October 11 2021 to 6am March 16 2022, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M48 Severn Bridge westbound, carriageway closed overnight for maintenance works. Diversion via M4 Prince of Wales Bridge.

M4, from 9pm March 11 to 6am March 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 22 to 21 lane closure for horticultural works.

A4, from 8pm March 2 to 6am March 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 20 to junction 22 closed including entry slips from M5 south and north for resurfacing. , diversion for M4 Prince of Wales Bridge join M5 southbound to junction 18, M49 northbound to J22 M4, diversion for M48 Severn Bridge join M5 southbound to junction 18, A403 to M48, junction 1.

M32, from 8.30pm January 18 to 6am April 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 northbound and southbound, junction 1 exit slips lane closures for survey works.

M32, from 8pm March 14 to 6am March 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 18 entry slip road closed for resurfacing works. Diversion via M4 westbound to junction 19, M32 J1 and return.

M32, from 9pm March 14 to 4am March 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 southbound, junction 1 to 2 - Lane closure for Electrical works.

M4, from 8pm March 15 to 5am March 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 15 southbound, entry slip from M4 west, lane closure for electrical works (Amberon).

M4, from 8pm March 15 to 6am March 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4, junction 18 eastbound, lane closure for filter drain renewal.

M4, from 10pm March 16 to 6am March 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 21 to junction 20 - Lane closure for inspection/surveys.

A46, from 8pm March 17 to 6am March 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A46 northbound and southbound, M4, junction 18 to Cold Ashton roundabout. Carriageway closure for white lining, diversion northbound, - A420 west / A4175 North / A4174 North / A432 to Yate / B4059 around Yate / A432 towards Chipping Sodbury / A46 South to junction 18 M4. Diversion southbound, is the opposite route.

M5, from 10pm March 18 to 6am March 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 14 to 16 carriageway closure for resurfacing, diversion for M5 southbound, traffic via A38. M4 traffic joining the M5 southbound, will be diverted by M5 J16 exit and entry slip roads.

A4, from 9pm March 21 to 8am March 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 22 entry slip. Carriageway closure for horticultural works, diversion via M49 South, M5 North, M4.

M4, from 9pm March 21 to 6am March 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 Prince of Wales Bridge eastbound, carriageway closed overnight for bridge maintenance. Includes westbound, safety lane closure. Diversion via M48 Severn Bridge.

M32, from 10pm March 22 to 6am March 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 southbound, junction 1 exit slip closure for carriageway repairs, diversion: continue to M32, junction 2, turn and rejoin M32 northbound to junction 1.

M5, from 9pm March 23 to 6am March 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 13 - 14 exit slip road to Michael Wood services closed for surveys.

M32, from 10pm March 25 to 5am March 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 northbound, junction 1 entry slip to M4, junction 19 roundabout. Lane closure for horticulture works.

M5, from 10pm March 25 to 6am March 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 17 northbound, lane closures for structural works.

M32, from 11pm March 25 to 6am March 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4, junction 20 eastbound, exit slips to the M5 northbound and southbound, closed for structural surveys. Diversion via M4 eastbound to junction 19, M32 southbound to junction 1, turn and return northbound to re-join M4 westbound.

M4, from 9pm March 28 to 3am March 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 20 to M5 southbound, junction 15. Lane closure for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
