Good news as food hygiene ratings given to eight South Gloucestershire establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to eight of South Gloucestershire’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to seven restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Cafe 21 at 21 High Street, Staple Hill, Bristol, South Gloucestershire; rated on June 9

• Rated 5: Soho Coffee Co at 207 The Mall Upper Level, Cribbs Causeway, Patchway, Bristol; rated on June 9

• Rated 5: Bella Italia Bristol Abbeywood at Unit 8b, Abbey Wood Retail Park, Station Road, Filton; rated on June 6

• Rated 5: Just As You Are Tea Cottage at Beach Road, Severn Beach, South Gloucestershire; rated on June 6

• Rated 5: Staple Hill Community Hub at 1a Berkeley House, Berkeley Road, Staple Hill, Bristol; rated on June 2

• Rated 5: Elior UK At Hanover Badminton Gardens at Beaufort Road, Downend, South Gloucestershire; rated on May 22

• Rated 5: White Lion at Frenchay Common, Frenchay, South Gloucestershire; rated on May 16
