Road closures: six for North Somerset drivers this week

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures are due to start this week:

M5, from 9pm September 20 to 6am September 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound and southbound, junction 21 lane closure on both exit slips installed by North Somerset Council.

M5, from 9pm September 26 to 6am September 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 entry slip road closure for bridge surveys, diversion via M5 southbound to junction 22.

M5, from 10pm September 26 to 5am September 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 Lane closures on exit slip road for Electrical Work.

M5, from 9pm September 27 to 6am September 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 exit slip road closure for bridge surveys, diversion via M5 southbound to junction 22 and return.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
