Road closures: more than a dozen for North Somerset drivers this week

Drivers in and around North Somerset will have 13 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M5, from 9pm February 20 to 6am February 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, M5, junction 19 to 20 - lane closure for inspection/survey works.

• M5, from 8pm February 9 to 6am March 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 18 to junction 20 lane closures for barrier upgrade.

And a further 11 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M5, from 9pm February 28 to 6am March 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 19 to 20 - Lane closure for Central Reservation works.

• M5, from 11.59pm February 28 to 6am March 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 entry slip lane closure for barrier repairs.

• M5, from 9pm March 1 to 6am March 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, M5, junction 19 to 20 - lane closure for inspection/survey works.

• M5, from 9pm March 1 to 6am March 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 21 lane closures for electrical works.

• M5, from 10pm March 3 to 6am March 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 exit slip road closed for cyclic maintenance works. Includes lane closures over Avonmouth Bridge. Diversion via M5 southbound to junction 20, to turn and return northbound.

• M5, from 8pm March 7 to 5am March 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 to 21 lane closures for resurfacing.

• M5, from 8pm March 8 to 5am March 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 lane closures for resurfacing.

• M5, from 8pm March 9 to 5am March 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 lane closures for resurfacing.

• M5, from 10pm March 9 to 6am March 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 exit slip lane closure for technology works.

• M5, from 8pm March 10 to 5am March 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 22 to 21 lane closures for resurfacing.

• M5, from 9pm March 10 to 6am April 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, M5, junction 19 to 20 - lane closure for inspection/survey works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
