Road closures: four for North Somerset drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around North Somerset will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around North Somerset will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

M5, from 10pm June 26 to 6am June 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 to 20 lane closure for road markings renewal.

M5, from 8pm June 28 to 4am June 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 to junction 20 lane closure for barrier repair.

M5, from 9pm June 29 to 6am June 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 exit and entry slip closed for road markings renewal. Diversion for exit slip via, junction 22 and back. Diversion for entry slip via, junction 20 and back.

M5, from 10pm July 10 to 5am July 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 carriageway closed between the exit and entry slips for structure maintenance. Includes lane closures over Avonmouth Bridge. Diversion via exit and entry slips.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
