Road closures: five for North Somerset drivers this week

Drivers in and around North Somerset will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around North Somerset will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 8pm February 9 to 6am March 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 18 to junction 20 lane closures for barrier upgrade.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

M5, from 9pm February 15 to 6am February 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 19 to junction 20 lane closure for barrier surveys.

A4, from 10pm February 17 to 6am February 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 exit and entry slip road closures for road markings renewal, diversion for exit slip road via M5 southbound, exit, junction 20, turn to join M5 northbound to junction 19, diversion for entry slip road via M5 northbound, exit, junction 18, turn at Portway roundabout, join M5 southbound.

M5, from 9pm February 20 to 6am February 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, M5, junction 19 to 20 - lane closure for inspection/survey works.

M5, from 10pm February 21 to 6am February 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to junction 19 - lane closure for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
