Road closures: eight for North Somerset drivers this week

Drivers in and around North Somerset will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around North Somerset will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 8pm May 9 to 6am July 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 22 to 21 lane closures for resurfacing.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

M5, from 8pm May 22 to 6am May 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound and southbound, junction 21 lane closure for barrier works.

M5, from 9pm May 22 to 6am May 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 to 19 lane closure for road markings renewal.

M5, from 9pm May 22 to 5am May 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 to 19 - lane closures for structure maintenance.

M5, from 9pm May 23 to 6am May 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 to 19 lane closure for road markings renewal.

M5, from 9pm May 24 to 5am May 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to 18 lane closures for structure maintenance.

M5, from 9pm June 1 to 6am June 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 to 19 lane closure for road markings renewal.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
