Road closures: almost a dozen for North Somerset drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around North Somerset will have 11 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M5, from 7pm October 10 to 6am December 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 22 to 21 lane closures for resurfacing.

And a further 10 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M5, from 9pm November 27 to 6am November 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21, lane closure for carriageway repairs.

• M5, from 9pm November 27 to 6am November 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 to 21, lane closure for carriageway repairs.

• M5, from 9pm November 29 to 6am December 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 to 21, lane closure for carriageway repairs.

• M5, from 9pm November 29 to 6am December 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 exit slip road lane closures for horticulture.

• M5, from 10pm November 29 to 6am November 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 to junction 19 lane closure for barrier repair.

• M5, from 10pm November 30 to 6am December 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 to junction 19 lane closure for barrier repair.

• M5, from 9pm December 1 to 4am December 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 entry and exit slip roads lane closures for vegetation clearance.

• M5, from 8pm December 4 to 6am December 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 carriageway closure between exit and entry slip roads for resurfacing, diversion via exit and entry slip roads.

• M5, from 8pm December 5 to 6am December 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 exit slip road closure for resurfacing, diversion via M5 northbound to junction 20 and return.

• M5, from 9pm December 7 to 6am December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 to 19, lane closure for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
