Road closures: a dozen for North Somerset drivers this week

Drivers in and around North Somerset will have 12 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 12 closures are due to start this week:

• M5, from 8am to 6pm on December 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 19 to 20 hard shoulder closure for inspection.

• M5, from 9pm December 6 to 4am December 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 to 21 lane closure for barrier repairs.

• M5, from 8pm December 7 to 5am December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 lane closures for resurfacing.

• M5, from 9pm December 7 to 6am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 - single lane running for road markings renewal.

• M5, from 11pm December 9 to 6am December 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 to 19 - lane closures for road markings renewal.

• M5, from 8pm December 10 to 6am December 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 entry slip road - lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

• M5, from 10pm December 12 to 6am December 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 to 19 - lane closures for road markings renewal.

• M5, from 8am to 6pm on December 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 19 to 20 hard shoulder closure for inspection.

• M5, from 10pm December 13 to 6am December 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 to 19 - single lane running for road markings renewal.

• M5, from 10pm December 13 to 6am December 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 to 20 lane closure for electrical works.

• M5, from 10pm December 15 to 6am December 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 to 18 - lane closures for road markings renewal.

• M5, from 11pm December 16 to 6am December 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 to 18 - lane closure for road markings renewal.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
