North Somerset's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

North Somerset's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 9pm April 11 to 6am May 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 19 to junction 20 lane closure for barrier improvements.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

M5, from 9pm May 2 to 5.59am May 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 to 22 lane closure for white lining.

M5, from 9pm May 2 to 6am May 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 18 to 20 lane closure for barrier works.

M5, from 8pm May 9 to 6am July 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 22 to 21 lane closures for resurfacing.

A4, from 10pm May 11 to 6am May 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 exit and entry slip closed for road markings renewal. Diversion for exit slip via, junction 20 and back. Diversion for entry slip via, junction 18, St. Brendans and junction 18 southbound, entry slip.

M5, from 9pm May 15 to 6am May 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 entry slip closed for road markings renewal. Diversion via, junction 20 and back.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
