North Somerset road closures: six for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

North Somerset's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

North Somerset's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 9pm November 29 to 6am December 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 exit slip road lane closures for horticulture.

M5, from 7pm October 10 to 6am December 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 22 to 21 lane closures for resurfacing.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M5, from 8pm December 4 to 6am December 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 carriageway closure between exit and entry slip roads for resurfacing, diversion via exit and entry slip roads.

M5, from 8pm December 5 to 6am December 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 exit slip road closure for resurfacing, diversion via M5 northbound to junction 20 and return.

M5, from 9pm December 7 to 6am December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 to 19, lane closure for electrical works.

M5, from 8pm December 13 to 6am December 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 carriageway closure between exit and entry slip roads for resurfacing, diversion via exit and entry slip roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
