North Somerset's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

North Somerset's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a wait of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 7pm October 10 to 6am December 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 22 to 21 lane closures for resurfacing.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M5, from 9pm October 16 to 6am October 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 19 to 20 lane closures for structure maintenance.

M5, from 8pm October 23 to 6am October 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to 18, lane closure for electrical works.

M5, from 9pm October 23 to 6am October 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 to 21 and M5 northbound, junction 21 to 20 closed for bridge repairs. Diversion for HGVs via J18, A4, A370 to junction 21 and vice versa. Diversion for small vehicles via, junction 19, A369, A370 and vice versa.

M5, from 10pm October 30 to 5am October 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 exit slip road carriageway closure for cyclical works, diversion via M5, exit at, junction 20, turn and return to junction 19.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
