North Somerset road closures: eight for motorists to avoid this week

North Somerset's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M5, from 8pm January 15 to 6am February 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 18 to junction 20 lane closures for barrier upgrade.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M5, from 8pm January 18 to 6am January 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 20 to junction 21 lane closures for barrier repair.

• M5, from 8pm January 20 to 6am January 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 19 to junction 20 lane closures for barrier repair.

• M5, from 10pm January 20 to 6am January 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 to 19 lane closures for structure maintenance.

• M5, from 8pm January 21 to 6am January 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 19 to 20 lane closures for barrier repairs.

• M5, from 8pm January 23 to 6am January 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 entry slip road closure for resurfacing, diversion via M5 southbound to junction 21.

• M5, from 8pm January 27 to 6am January 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 carriageway closure between exit and entry slip roads for resurfacing, diversion via exit and entry slip roads.

• M5, from 10pm January 27 to 6am January 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to 18 lane closures for structure maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
