North Somerset road closures: eight for motorists to avoid this week

North Somerset's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 10pm September 30 to 6am October 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 exit slip road closure for bridge surveys, diversion via M5 southbound to junction 22 and return.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

M5, from 9pm October 3 to 6am October 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 to 19 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

M5, from 9pm October 6 to 6am October 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 entry slip lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

M5, from 9pm October 6 to 6am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 lane closure for bridge surveys.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
