North Somerset road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

North Somerset's motorists will have 11 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

North Somerset's motorists will have 11 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 8pm November 19 to 5am November 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 21 to 22 - lane closures for safety barrier repairs.

M5, from 7pm October 10 to 6am December 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 22 to 21 lane closures for resurfacing.

And a further nine closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M5, from 9pm November 20 to 6am November 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 to 21, lane closure for carriageway repairs.

M5, from 9pm November 22 to 5am November 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 to junction 22 lane closure for electrical works.

M5, from 10pm November 22 to 6am November 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 exit slip road - carriageway closure for electrical works, diversion via M5, exit and turn at, junction 21 to return to junction 20.

M5, from 9pm November 27 to 6am November 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21, lane closure for carriageway repairs.

M5, from 9pm November 29 to 6am December 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 to 21, lane closure for carriageway repairs.

M5, from 9pm November 29 to 6am December 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 21 exit slip road lane closures for horticulture.

M5, from 9pm December 1 to 4am December 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 entry and exit slip roads lane closures for vegetation clearance.

M5, from 8pm December 4 to 6am December 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 carriageway closure between exit and entry slip roads for resurfacing, diversion via exit and entry slip roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
