Bristol road closures: eight for motorists to avoid this week

Bristol's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Bristol's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 9pm May 24 2021 to 5am March 23 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 18 to 19 lane closures in both directions for bridge maintenance.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

M5, from 8pm January 4 to 6am January 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 18a to 17 lane closures northbound, for fence work and pond removal.

M5, from 6am January 5 to 8pm February 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 18a to 17 lane closure 24 / seven northbound, for fence work and pond removal.

M5, from 8pm January 10 to 6am January 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 18 northbound, exit slip closed for survey works, diversion via, junction 17 and return.

M49, from 8pm January 11 to 6am January 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 18a northbound, exit slip closed for survey works, diversion via, junction 15 and M4 westbound.

M5, from 8pm January 12 to 6am January 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 19 to 18A lane closures for survey works.

M5, from 8pm January 13 to 6am January 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 19 to 17 lane closures for survey works.

M4, from 10pm January 14 to 6am January 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 18a northbound, entry slip closed for survey works, diversion via M49 north onto the M4 east.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
