Road closures: four for Bath and North East Somerset drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Bath and North East Somerset will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Bath and North East Somerset will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing a holdup of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A36, from midnight, December 19 2022 to 11pm November 23 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bath to Warminster used by GWR Railway Replacement Buses on Bristol Temple Meads - Frome route.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A36, from 8pm August 30 to 6am September 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A36 both directions Bathampton to Beckington closed for white lining. Diversion via A361, A350, A4, Upper Bristol Road, A3064 and vice versa.

A36, from 9pm September 4 to 5am September 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 both directions Warminster Road between, junction with Lower Stoke and junction with Woods Hill. 2-way signals on behalf of Bath and North East Somerset Council.

A4, from 10pm September 11 to 6am September 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 both directions Cold Ashton roundabout to London Road roundabout - carriageway closure for electrical works, diversion for southbound, via A420, A350, A4. For northbound, follow the same in reverse.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
