Road closures: five for Bath and North East Somerset drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bath and North East Somerset will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Bath and North East Somerset will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause major delays – with motorists facing a holdup of at least 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A4, from 9am March 23 to 4pm March 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A4 westbound, Box Rbt to London Road Rbt lane closure for horticulture.

A36, from 8pm March 24 to 6am April 2, severe delays (more than 30 minutes): A36 both directions Bathampton to Claverton (Brassknocker Hill) carriageway closure for resurfacing, diversion for light vehicles A366, A363, A4. (weight limit on route), diversion for HGV's A361, A350, A4.

A36, from midnight, December 19 2022 to 11pm November 23 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bath to Warminster used by GWR Railway Replacement Buses on Bristol Temple Meads - Frome route.

And a further two closures will begin over the next seven days:

A36, from 9.30am March 30 to 3pm April 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 both directions Bathampton. 2-way signals for BT works.

A46, from 8pm April 3 to 6am April 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 Both Directions M4, junction 18 to Cold Ashton multi-way signals for horticulture.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
