Road closures: five for Bath and North East Somerset drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bath and North East Somerset will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Bath and North East Somerset will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A36, from 8am January 19 to 6pm January 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 both directions Claverton. Multi-way signals for Truespeed works.

A36, from midnight, December 19 2022 to 11pm November 23 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bath to Warminster used by GWR Railway Replacement Buses on Bristol Temple Meads - Frome route.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

A36, from 9pm January 23 to 12.30am January 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 both directions Warminster Road near, junction Hantone Hill 2-way signals for cycle sensor installation by DFT Road Statistics Division.

A46, from 8pm January 30 to 6am February 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 Both Directions Cold Ashton to Swainswick two-way traffic lights for drainage.

A4, from 10pm February 3 to 6am February 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A4 eastbound, London Road entry slip road Closed for drainage works. Diversion via A46 northbound to Cold Ashton, A420 eastbound, A350 southbound and A4.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
