Road closures: five for Bath and North East Somerset drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Bath and North East Somerset will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• A4, from 10pm December 5 to 6am December 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 both directions Cold Ashton roundabout to London Road roundabout carriageway closure for drainage, diversion for southbound, via A420, A350, A4. For northbound, follow the same in reverse.

• A36, from 7.30am December 11 to 4.30pm December 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Both Directions Bathampton to Beckington multi way signals for drainage.

• A36, from 7.30am December 11 to 4.30pm December 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Both Directions Claverton to Monkton Combe multi way signals for drainage.

• A36, from 9pm December 11 to 4am December 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 both directions Limpley Stoke to Limpley Stoke - multiway signals for drainage works.

• A36, from 8pm December 16 2023 to 5.10am January 5 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bath to Warminster used by GWR Railway Replacement Buses on Bristol Temple Meads - Frome route.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
