Good news as food hygiene ratings awarded to 10 Bath and North East Somerset establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 10 of Bath and North East Somerset’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to nine restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Cafe On The Barge at Tow Path Kennet And Avon Canal, Bathampton, Bath; rated on February 22

• Rated 5: Bar + Block Steakhouse At Premier Inn at Premier Inn, 4 James Street West, City Centre, Bath; rated on February 20

• Rated 5: Picnic Coffee at 9 Saracen Street, City Centre, Bath; rated on February 19

• Rated 5: The Bathwick Boatman Restaurant at The Boatman Restaurant, Forester Road, Bathwick, Bath; rated on February 16

• Rated 5: Cafe Au Lait at Café Au Lait, 12 Dorchester Street, Bath; rated on February 15

• Rated 5: Bath Golf Club at Golf Course Road, Bathwick, Bath; rated on February 13

• Rated 5: Herberts Cafe at Drive Through Royal Victoria Park, Lower Weston, Bath; rated on February 13

• Rated 5: The Shed at Purnell Cricket Club, Bristol Road, Paulton, Bristol; rated on February 13

• Rated 5: Zizzi at 9 Sawclose, City Centre, Bath, Bath And North East Somerset; rated on February 13
