Bath and North East Somerset road closures: six for motorists to avoid this week

Bath and North East Somerset's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Bath and North East Somerset's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause severe delays – with drivers facing a wait of at least 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A4, from 9am March 16 to 4pm March 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A4 eastbound, London Road Rbt to Box Rbt lane closure for horticulture.

A36, from midnight, December 19 2022 to 11pm November 23 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bath to Warminster used by GWR Railway Replacement Buses on Bristol Temple Meads - Frome route.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

A4, from 9am March 23 to 4pm March 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A4 westbound, Box Rbt to London Road Rbt lane closure for horticulture.

A36, from 7am to 5pm on March 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 both directions Limpley Stoke - stop and go for inspection/survey.

A36, from 8pm March 24 to 6am April 2, severe delays (more than 30 minutes): A36 both directions Bathampton to Claverton (Brassknocker Hill) carriageway closure for resurfacing, diversion for light vehicles A366, A363, A4. (weight limit on route), diversion for HGV's A361, A350, A4.

A36, from 9.30am March 30 to 3pm April 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 both directions Bathampton. 2-way signals for BT works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
