Bath and North East Somerset road closures: seven for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Bath and North East Somerset's motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A36, from midnight, December 19 2022 to 11pm November 23 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bath to Warminster used by GWR Railway Replacement Buses on Bristol Temple Meads - Frome route.

And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A36, from 9am to 4pm on July 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bathampton stop and go for maintenance works.

• A36, from 8pm July 10 to 6am July 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A36 both directions Bathampton to Beckington closed for white lining. Diversion via A361, A350, A4 and vice versa.

• A36, from 8am July 11 to 6pm July 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bath to Bathampton traffic lights in place for Truespeed works.

• A36, from 8pm July 11 to 6am July 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A36 both directions Beckington to Bathampton closed for white lining. Diversion via A361, A350, A4 and vice versa.

• A36, from 9am July 12 to 4pm July 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Woolverton to Claverton stop and go for maintenance works.

• A36, from 7pm July 18 to 6am July 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Claverton traffic lights in place for BT works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
