Bath and North East Somerset road closures: four for motorists to avoid this week

Bath and North East Somerset's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Bath and North East Somerset's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause severe delays – with drivers facing a wait of at least half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A36, from 8pm April 2 to 6am April 3, severe delays (more than 30 minutes): A36 both directions Bathampton to Claverton (Brassknocker Hill) carriageway closure for resurfacing, diversion for light vehicles A366, A363, A4. (weight limit on route), diversion for HGV's A361, A350, A4.

A36, from 9.30am March 30 to 3pm April 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 both directions Bathampton. 2-way signals for BT works.

A36, from midnight, December 19 2022 to 11pm November 23 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bath to Warminster used by GWR Railway Replacement Buses on Bristol Temple Meads - Frome route.

And one more closure will begin over the next seven days:

A46, from 8pm April 3 to 6am April 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 Both Directions M4, junction 18 to Cold Ashton multi-way signals for horticulture.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
