Bath and North East Somerset road closures: five for motorists to avoid this week

Bath and North East Somerset's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A4, from 8pm October 28 to 6am November 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A4 both directions London Road Roundabout to Bathford Road Roundabout closed for carriageway resurfacing works. Diversion via A46, A420 and A4.

A36, from 9am October 24 to 3pm November 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 northbound and southbound, Bathampton to Brassknocker Hill - multi-way signals for survey works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

A46, from 8pm November 2 to 6am November 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 Cold Ashton to London Road traffic signals for carriageway resurfacing works.

A4, from 9pm November 7 to 5am November 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A46 southbound and northbound, Cold Ashton roundabout to London road roundabout carriageway closed for maintenance, diversion A420, A350, A4.

A4, from 9pm November 10 to 5am November 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): CONTINGENCY - A46 southbound and northbound, Cold Ashton roundabout to London road roundabout carriageway closed for maintenance, diversion A420, A350, A4.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
