Bath and North East Somerset road closures: five for motorists to avoid this week

Bath and North East Somerset's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause major delays – with drivers facing a holdup of at least 30 minutes. Another will cause moderate delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A36, from 3.01pm February 18 to 6am June 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Limpley Stoke two-way traffic signals for Geotechnical works.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

A4, from 10pm May 30 to 6am May 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A4 Bath westbound, exit slip for London Road closed for Horticulture works. Diversion via A46 northbound to Cold Ashton Roundabout, to turn and return southbound.

A4, from 10pm June 11 to 6am June 12, severe delays (more than 30 minutes): A4 southbound, London Road entry slip closed for drainage works, diversion A46 northbound, U-turn back southbound, A46.

A36, from 9am June 13 to 3pm June 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bathampton to Beckington - Stop and Go signs in place for drainage works.

A36, from 8pm June 13 to 4am June 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bathampton to Bath Road Rbt - temporary traffic signals for drainage works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
