Bath and North East Somerset road closures: five for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Bath and North East Somerset's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Bath and North East Somerset's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A36, from 11am May 24 to 11.59pm June 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bathampton traffic lights in place for urgent National Grid works.

A36, from midnight, December 19 2022 to 11pm November 23 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bath to Warminster used by GWR Railway Replacement Buses on Bristol Temple Meads - Frome route.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A36, from 9am May 30 to 3.30pm June 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Both Directions Bathampton to Monkton Combe two-way signals for surveys.

A46, from 8pm May 31 to 6am June 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 Both Directions M4, junction 18 to Cold Ashton multi-way signals for horticulture.

A36, from 7am June 5 to 6pm June 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 both directions Warminster Road, junction with Church Lane - multi-way signals for Wiltshire Council works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
