Wearable Waste Workshop - Saturday
A fashion and art workshop featuring throwaway items, clothing and art - a chance for people to reinvent and personalise their rubbish.

The two afternoon sessions will see people turn old junk and clutter into wearable “waste pieces”.
There will also be a chance to take part in a rubbish pile photo shoot to celebrate the finished articles.
Anyone coming should bring clean waste materials such as broken toys, magazines and clothing.

The Lady Boys of Bangkok, Castle Park - Saturday and Sunday

This cabaret act has returned to Bristol for what it calls its biggest and best show yet.
Taking place at the Sabai Pavilion in Castle Park, you can watch 16 glamorous showgirls provide a musical with more than 400 costumers.
Describing the show, the organisers write: “Climb aboard for the trip of a lifetime as 16 of the world’s most glamorous showgirls (who just happen to be men!) send you soaring to spectacular diamante-dipped musical destinations, with over 400 stunning diamante dripping costumes.”

Music will feature from Destiny’s Child, Shania Twain, Little Mix and the Pussycat Dolls.

Hotwells Festival - Saturday and Sunday

The first ever Hotwells Festival takes place this weekend with events over four venues.
The venues are the Nova Scotia pub, the Merchant Arms, Eldon House and the Underfall Yard Cafe.
Events include dance, creative writing, music and comedy.
There will also be talks and author interviews.

Our pick is live band The Shrinks, a group of Bristol-based musicans, which play at the Nova Scotia on Saturday at 6pm.

The festival features a series of short films showing showing human-power feats in the most captivating places on earth.

Sound of Cinemas at the Redpoint Climbing Centre - Saturday
Two composers - Liz Lane and Mark Vasey - provide a pop-up musical based on their findings while exploring former cinemas in Bristol.

The performance will include research, visits and memories of the former venues now used for purposes such as carpet shops and a climbing centre.
Certainly one for anyone with an interest in old cinemas in the city.
The show starts at the centre in Bedminster at 7pm, and entry is free.
