We visit St George's Park, one of the best places for a picnic in the UK - it has a lake and sport areas

From wildlife to sports to relaxation - there’s so much to enjoy at St George’s Park.

With its beautiful lake, tree-lined walkways and sports activities, it’s not a surprise the park always scores highly in surveys on parks in the UK, and now it has another accolade.

The park, built on the land that was The Fire Engine Farm, was ranked third in The Top 20 Parks in the UK To Enjoy a Picnic by cocktail brand NIO Cocktails.

The ranking looked at over 4,000 public parks and took into account the quality and breadth of facilities nearby, including toilets and shops. The study also examined the ratings of each park and removed those below 4* and those with less than 250 reviews. It only came behind Sheffield’s Peace Gardens and London’s The Regent’s Park.
