Equipped with a suitcase and an iPad, we explored Bristol in a new light as "Vampire Hunters," in what felt like a "mad conspiracy theorist gone wild."

Cabot Circus' Escape Hunt's new "Vampire Hunters: A City Hunt Game" tasks guests with the quest to dispose of the vampires "roaming" around Bristol for the "Season of Blood" before it's too late.

The outdoor escape hunt is targeted at teams of two to six players and takes 90 minutes to complete.

After a very slow trip on the lift, we were greeted by the friendly staff at Escape Hunt's reception where we had the opportunity to play board games - like Jenga - as we waited to start our experience.

There are also both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for sale at the in-house bar, and an opportunity to safely store away any valuables you don't want to carry on the hunt.

We were briefed on our mission by the supervisor, who put up a good act to make the experience more immersive.

Kicking off from Castle Park, the city hunt took us through the city centre and the streets near St Nicholas Market.

The puzzles were overall very enjoyable and offered a good sense of satisfaction when you could connect the dots.

But you will need to be quick! The iPad provides a countdown and once it reaches zero, it's game over.

We lost track of our time and unfortunately were unable to complete all the puzzles in time as we were a couple of streets away from being back at HQ (Escape Hunt).

Another point to note: the weather is very important for this experience.

Unfortunately, there were some light showers during our experience which slowed us down during some puzzles. For example, during a quest where we had to observe the faces on a building, we had to take some photos and take shelter so that we could see them properly and solve the puzzle.

Nevertheless, it didn't stop us from having a blast and feeling a good level of challenge from the puzzles. Overall, it was a very fun experience, the staff were very friendly and we got to see Bristol in a whole new light.
