Tom Jones has announced a headline show at Cardiff Castle. The music icon will visit the Welsh capital as part of his Ages and Stages tour on July 21, 2023.

The star will perform live on the castle grounds in what is his first headline show in his home country in 21 years. It follows two immensely popular sell-out shows at The Principality last year, in which he appeared alongside The Stereophonics.

Sir Tom is touring to celebrate six decades of success where he has sold over 100 million records and 36 UK Top 40 singles. The 82-year-old is best known for hit songs such as It’s Not Unusual, I’ll Never Fall In Love Again and What’s New Pussycat.

Nick Saunders, founder of event organisers DEPOT Live said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing the Voice from Pontypridd back to the Welsh capital this summer; we know it’s something that people have waited a long time for. We can’t think of a more perfect setting for Sir Tom than the castle.”

Another Tom Jones track has taken the limelight recently, with his 1968 song Delilah being banned from the playlists at Welsh rugby matches due to its “themes of domestic violence”.
