Bristol Balloon Fiesta 2024: These were the scenes in Bristol as hot air balloons took off from College Green

The iconic hot air balloon festival is scheduled to take place from August 9 to 11 at Ashton Court.

Over 120 hot air balloons are registered to attend this year’s event, with mass ascents scheduled at dawn (approximately 6am) and just before dusk (approximately 6pm) daily, if weather conditions allow.

The infamous Nightglows will take place on Friday and Saturday, where dozens of hot air balloons will inflate and use their burners to glow in time to music produced by BBC Radio Bristol, bringing the party atmosphere and bringing the crowd to their feet.

Today’s (July 24) event raised the curtain to this year’s 46th Balloon Fiesta from College Green.
