If your bank balance is looking a little sorry for itself after the Christmas blow-out, but you still want to eat out during the long month of January, fear not. A number of Bristol restaurants and bars have launched special deals and discounts to help customers this month.

With rising food and energy bills, it’s especially difficult for small independent restaurants to reduce menu prices this year so look to the bigger national chains for the big bargains, although there are still a few local eateries offering deals.
