Strictly Coming Dancing 2022: who is Jayde Adams and who is she paired with?

Bristol comedian Jayde Adams has her partner and looks to fill her dance card in the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Jayde Adams, the award winning Bristol comedian and star of Amazon Prime series Good Omens, is ready to sweep her dance partner off her feet as  Strictly Come Dancing 2022 begins tonight.

She readily admits she is a big fan of BBC One’s popular reality dance contest, stating after her announcement in the new series that she “watched the first series in 2004 (and) I feel like every step I’ve taken in my career over the last 11 years was to be on Strictly.”

“I’ve been a massive fan of the show for years. I feel like I’m watching myself in a dream and I can’t believe I’ve manifested this. Holding this in has been torture for me!”

“I cannot begin to express the emotions I am feeling, this means so much to me and my family.”

Here is everything you need to know about Jayde Adams; such as who she is and who will be her partner for Strictly Come Dancing 2022.

Who is Jayde Adams?

Bristol born Jayde Adams started her stand-up career after the death of her sister Jenna, with whom she had danced competitively with for 13 years, at her aunt’s dance school in Bristol.

An ardent supporter of the LGBT community, having started her live performance career at drag bars such as the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, Jayde often cites the LGBT community in London as the reason she found confidence after the death of her sister in 2011.

Adams won the main award at the 2014 Funny Women Awards and was a nominee for Best Newcomer at the 2016 Edinburgh Comedy Awards (the Eddies).

She made her acting debut in Russell Howard’s 2015 comedy-drama A Gert Lush Christmas, and has made appearances on Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Perhaps one of her biggest television appearances came starring as Julia Petley alongside Michael Sheen, David Tennent, Jack Whitehall and Miranda Richardson in the Amazon Prime adaptation of Good Omens, written by The Sandman author Neil Gaiman and Discworld creator Terry Pratchett.

Who is Jayde Adams’ Strictly Come Dancing partner?

Jayde Adams will be partnering up with Karen Hauer in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing

The official pairings for the 20th series of the dancing competition have been revealed, as a cast of world-class professional dancers and exciting celebrities come together.

Jayde is partnered in a same-sex couple with Venezuelan dancer Karen Hauer, who was previously paired with Jamie Laing from Made in Chelsea, The Only Way Is Essex’s Mark Wright and Channel 4 presenter Simon Rimmer.

Hauer said: “I love everything about her. I think she’s incredible. I’m absolutely excited. I have so many ideas, too many ideas. This is going to be a golden moment for me.”

Adams is the second contestant this series partnered up with a same-sex dance partner, as Richie Anderson requested a male partner and paired with Giovanni Pernice.

How to watch Jayde Adams on Strictly Come Dancing?
