Bristol’s annual Pride Day is set to return on July 13.

The event has been running for 15 years and welcomed over 45,000 people across two weeks of events and 25,000 during the march last year.

Entry to the event is donation based with the option to purchase supporter wristbands that come with multiple perks.

Human League will be headlining Bristol Pride Day which will also be welcoming Brizzle Boys and PUNKA to the stage, OTR at the Youth Area, and Bassline Circus and QAF Cabaret at the Circus tent.

The parade will be kicking-off from the Bandstand end of Castle Park at 10.45am before makings its way through the city centre and on to Lloyds Amphitheatre where the shuttle busses depart for the Downs. Note, there is a short hill incline on Union Street.

The walking parade takes about an hour to complete and anyone can take part at no cost.

Travel at Bristol Pride 2024

Where to park at Bristol Pride Day 2024

There will be accessible parking in an area of grass just outside the festival gates at the Downs.

Local Buses

Guests will be able to travel for free with First Bus busses on the First Bust Bristol Zone on July 13 when they purchase a supporters wristband. You will be emailed a promotional code to enter onto the app to get your free ticket. The 1, 2, 3 and 4 will take you to The Downs when you use the College Green (P1) and The Cenotaph (C10) stops.

Shuttle Bus

There will be a free shuttle bus service from the Lloyds Amphitheatre (where the walking parade finished) to The Downs from 11am to 10pm.

Road Closures

Bristol Pride Day 2024 - Youth Area

The Youth Area is open to 13 to 25 year olds from noon to 5pm.

The area (which is alcohol free) provides a relaxed and safe space for young people who are LGBTQIA+ or are exploring their gender and sexuality.

Varies activities will be held ranging from Badge making, and other crafts to giant games such as Jenga and connect 4 as well as space to sit and just hang out.

Bristol Pride Day 2024 - Family Area

Junkfish will be returning to bring outdoor fun and games including circus skills and giant garden games at the family area.

Children will have the opportunity to have a go at plate spinning, hula hopping or stilt walking, play a game of giant chess or Jenga, play with Lego, Duplo and Playdough, or race the balls down the fabulous, recycled Junk Ball Run.

Drag Story Time - a safe space for kids to enjoy LGBT+ stories- will be returning from 1pm to 4pm, with readings lasting half an hour.

Avon Gorge & Downs Wildlife Project will also be offering a lovely butterfly and dragonfly workshop as well as lots of information about wildlife in Avon Gorge and on the Downs.

The Kids Ball showcases will be held at the Circus Tent at 3.05pm and 4.45pm.

Bristol Pride Day 2024 - Sensory Calm Space

Diverse UK will organise a Sensory Calm Space next to the medic and welfare areas with the aim to provide a safe, low-level stimulation and recalibration zone for those on the Autistic Spectrum and for those who need a place to have a moment of calm, rather than having to leave the festival.

What will the weather be like at Bristol Pride Day 2024?

According to the Met Office, there will be sunny intervals changing to cloudy by late morning, with highs of 20°C and lows of 13°C.

BBC Weather, however, predicts there will be light rain showers and a gentle breeze, with highs of 18°C and lows of 9°C.

Bristol Pride Day 2024 - How to get tickets

From July 8 to 12, supporter wristbands can be bought from the Pride Hub at The Vestibules in City Hall, College Green from noon to 6pm.

They include money off onsite bar prices, discounts or free upgrades with food traders, plus other great partner money savings as well as free travel on Pride Day via First Bus and Pride Shuttle Services.

Pride Day Supporter wristbands cost £9; £15 for Fast Track Day Supporter wristbands which also guarantee fast track entry with dedicated gate lane and a souvenir fabric wristband; £30 for Day + Night Supporter which also guarantees entry to The Official Pride Afterparty at O2 Academy Bristol and Queenshilling as well as discounted entry to other partner afterparties; and £45 for Super Supporter which also gives access to the Pride Day Supporter area with a free drink on arrival and dedicated toilets and bar.
