We all know and love the Christmas market in Bristol city centre - but what if you’re looking for something a bit more independent and local?
We’ve got you covered with this list of Bristol’s independent Christmas markets:
Bristol Local Market
You may have thought that the Christmas market was just one long row of log cabins in the city centre, but the Bristol Local Market section will be actually separate.
The 22 wooden chalets that will begin by the Tesco in Broadmead will be filled with local makers and artists selling wares that include a unique mix of seasonal treats and gorgeous gifts.
Their theme this year is ‘Made in Bristol’ so be sure to go and support local artists.
It will be open from November 29 until December 23. Check out their website for times and trader information.
Made in Bristol
Returning to its home at Bristol Beacon, the Made in Bristol independent market is the one Bristolians wait for all year.
Hosted over three weekends (November 27 and 28, December 4 and 5, 11 and 12 from 11-5 pm on Saturdays 11-4 pm on Sundays) over 200 designers and makers will be selling illustrations, sculptures, jewellery, ceramics, knitwear and clothing among other giftable items.
Check out their website for more details and for information about the kid’s craft workshops available.
Finzels Reach and Temple Quay Christmas Market
A new addition to the Christmas market scene, this three-day event takes place from November 25-27 from 11am-6pm.
The market at Finzels Reach will be held on November 25 and 27 with local producers selling food and drink gifts and crafters selling jewellery, prints and macramé plant holders. There will also be live music.
The Temple Quay Christmas market takes place on November 26 and will feature street food stalls and crafters selling prints, skincare products, candles and wreaths.
Check out their website for more details.
Estate of the Arts: Winter Fair
This south-of-the-river based Christmas market runs fortnightly on Sundays with special late nights on Thursday.
Filled with over 25 local maker stalls you can expect to find beautiful ceramics, fashion, homewares, art, candles and aromatherapies, clothing and knitwear, jewellery and accessories for sale.
Alongside the market stalls there will be live music, a pop-up cinema, food and drink stalls and more.
Check out their website for times and dates.
Bristol Pop-Up Shop
While not technically a market, we wanted to include it because the shop features Christmas delights from 80 local makers, designers and artists.
Situated on the first floor of The Galleries, this pop-up shop opens November 18 and goes until Christmas Eve.
It is open seven days a week with trading hours 10am-6pm on Monday to Saturdays and 11am-5pm on Sundays.
Gifts include illustrations, jewellery, baby clothes, cards, ceramics, knitwear and more.
If you want to get a sneak peek at what will be available check out their online shop.
