A popular Halloween light show in south Bristol has returned for the fifth year.

Ian and Ann Cooper have covered their house on Andover Road in Knowle with an estimated 9,500 lights - up 1,500 from last year.

Hundreds of people come out yearly to see the Coopers’ Light Show, dubbed the brightest Halloween display in Bristol. It made national headlines last year after BristolWorld first reported on it.

The display is once again raising funds for the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, having raised just over £1,300 last year.

Bus driver and foster carer Ian started putting up the lights for this year’s display at the start of September, which he jokes is an “addiction”.

“It’s well-attended; I’ve had kids dancing on the driveway. They love it and have such a good time,” he told BristolWorld.

Last year, the Coopers prepared 250 bags of sweets to give out on Halloween, which disappeared in just over an hour.

People have come from as far as London to see the display, with one woman last year visiting two nights in a row from Frome.

The Coopers Light Show runs nightly until Thursday, October 31, from 5pm to 9pm. The house will also be lit up for Remembrance Sunday and again through December.
