Why are the M4 Junction 19/M32 roundabout closing?

The M4 Junction 19/M32 roundabout, also known as the Hambrook Interchange will be closing for retexturing and reinstating road markings.

The works will maintain and improve safety for everyone using the road.

The works will be split across two phrases with the roundabout partially closed to road users depending on their direction of travel.

When will the M4 Junction 19/M32 roundabout close?

The works will be carried out between today (November 4) at 8pm and Thursday November 7 at 6am.

The M4 Junction 19 eastbound exit slip and southbound on the M32 will be closed between today (November 4) at 8pm and Wednesday 6 at 6am.

The M4 Junction 19 westbound exit slip to Junction 1 of the M32 southbound will be closed from November 6 at 8pm to November 7 at 6am.

What diversion route will in place during the closure of M4 Junction 19/M32 roundabout?

The following diversions will be on place for the M4 J19 eastbound closure:

- road users will need to take the Junction 18 to rejoin the M4 heading westbound

- signage will then take road users off at J19to join the M32 southbound.

The following diversions will be on place for the M4 J19/M32 roundabout closure:

- Traffic heading northbound on the M32 will travel westbound on the M4 leaving at J20 to join the southbound M5

- exit the M5 at J16 and rejoin the M5 heading northbound

- exit the M5 at J15 to join the M4 heading eastbound

The following diversions will be on place for the M4 J19 westbound closure:

- Traffic heading southbound on M5 will continue and exit at M5 J16, heading southbound on Gloucester Road

- At Filton roundabout, head eastbound on the A4174 to join the M32 at J1

The following diversions will be on place for the M4 J19 eastbound travelling southbound on the M32:

- exit the M4 at J18 and travel southbound on the A46 towards Cold Ashton

- at next the roundabout, head westbound on the A420 towards Warmley

- at the Deanery Road roundabout, head northbound on the A4174

- continue on the A4174 until reaching J1 of the M32.
