Nigel Pearson will return to manage his side this weekend after recovering from a Covid-19 related illness.
Pearson had been off since 5 November, missing Bristol City’s 3-2 defeat to Coventry City but now returns as the Robins prepare to take on Blackburn Rovers this weekend.

So far this season, they have had some strong performances from their players, such as Robert Atkinson and Andreas Weimann who has top scored with seven goals in 17 appearances, however it is Chris Martin who is looking to be the pick of the Bristol City footballers so far this season.

The Former Scottish international has earned himself more Man of the Match awards than anyone else in his side (3) as well as having more assists than his other teammates. City’s other star forward, Austrian footballer Weimann has two assists, as does Danny Simpson, Cameron Pring, Alex Scott, Antoine Semenyo and Tyreeq Bakinson.
According to whoscored.com, Martin is also enjoying the most successful season with a rating of 7.07 since his 2014/15 season with Derby where he achieved a rating of 7.24.
The former Derby player is known for his strong passes as well as holding on to possession of the ball in key moments.

He currently has an overall player rating of 6.82 and will prove himself to be a key player in Bristol’s fight to stay well within the Championship League.
