After the postponement of Bristol City’s game against Preston North End, due to the death of Queen Elizabeth, the Robins are starting afresh with an away game against Norwich City on Wednesday.

Norwich are currently sitting second in the Championship table, looking over their shoulders at sixth-placed Bristol City who wish to maintain their fine start to the season.

Nigel Pearson said the Robins will have to be ‘at their best’ during a double game week on the road when they visit Carrow Road on Wednesday and Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

He said: “We are not going into these games with any inferiority complex, it’s about trying to measure ourselves and it’s good to see that the players are in a positive mood.”

The Robins - who currently sit in sixth place - are yet to finish a season in a play-off place, since their return to the Sky Bet Championship in 2015. Nigel Pearson‘s men will hope to capitalise on fine form and take their unbeaten run to nine games with a win at Norwich.

In a purple patch of form, Josh Sargent scored his fifth goal of the season during the match which elevated Norwich to the top of the table in their fifth consecutive league victory.

The Canaries started on the front foot with Teemu Pukki scoring his first goal of the season, after good work by teammate Mercelino Nunez.

Pukki then combined with Aston Villa loanee Aaron Ramsay to help Josh Sargent score a second goal deep into first-half injury time.

With around ten minutes to go, substitute Kieran Dowell secured the points thanks to an assist by Sargent.
