Which League One team has been given the most penalties? Where Bristol Rovers, Oxford United, Port Vale and others rank

A look at how many penalties have been awarded in the 2023/24 League One campaign - and where Bristol Rovers rank.

Bristol Rovers haven't been afforded the chance of scoring from 12-yards many times this season.

In the 2023/24 League One campaign, they've been given the chance of scoring a penalty just once. It came at the end of October when Anthony Evans scored to make it 2-0 against Northampton Town. He did score a week later against Whitby Town in the 7-2 first-round FA Cup victory but since then they've not had a penalty.

Penalties are the least of Rovers' worries right now as they're still on the search for the first win of 2024. They've had a glamour FA Cup tie against Liverpool snatched away from them, having been knocked out by Norwich City. Rovers have also lost to Wycombe Wanderers, Barnsley, Blackpool and most recently Exeter City.

The arrival of Kamil Conteh from Grimsby Town for a reported £300,000 should improve the mood around the place. He has been registered in time for their clash with local rivals Oxford United, and it'll be interesting to see how he fares on his debut.

Rovers haven't really struggled to score in games having scored in all but one of their six matches but you'd like the team to be a bit more clinical. Penalties are a good way of getting on the score sheet but Rovers just haven't had their luck in getting them, whether it's been referees not awarding them or just not getting in to the positions.

Several of their league rivals however haven't had a problem and there is one team that is by far the most profitable from 12-yards having been awarded seven, whilst there is another that has yet to be awarded the opportunity.

Here we look at the information TransferMarkt is providing us and see how many teams every League One team has been awarded.
