Championship team of the week dominated by Bristol City, QPR, Watford and Blackburn Rovers - gallery

Here’s how the EFL Championship team of the week shapes up for the weekend of Saturday, November 4.

The Championship is approaching its second international break of the season following the penultimate round of fixtures.

We're just over the quarter stage of the campaign, and after the block of international fixtures in November, the season enters a very busy period with the festive fixtures to come.

Most teams have played 15 games but following the postponement of Rotherham United versus Ipswich Town a fortnight ago, they're the only two teams to have played a game less, and that fixture is to be played at the New York Stadium this week.

This weekend was the 15th gameweek for most teams however, and for Bristol City they began life without Nigel Pearson with a win against his former club Sheffield Wednesday. Rob Dickie scored the only goal of the game at Ashton Gate, but there were several chances to increase their lead including Sam Bell hitting the post in the second-half.

The Robins after their win shoot up to 11th, and should they go with someone else other than caretaker boss Curtis Fleming, then they could inherit a side that is just outside of the play-offs. Elsewhere in the Championship, Leeds United inflicted a rare defeat onto Leicester City who despite the defeat remain top. Southampton left it late again as they beat Millwall at The Den, whilst QPR in their first game under new manager Martí Cifuentes drew 1-1 with Rotherham.

Rounding off the action, Watford were held to a goalless draw with Huddersfield Town, and then the final match of the weekend saw Blackburn Rovers defeat Norwich City 3-1 to ramp up the pressure on Canaries boss David Wagner.

Several players put in exceptional individual performances, and as a result they have been put into the official team of the week, which is collated by WhoScored. WhoScored helps provide information to the English Football League for weekly, monthly and seasonal awards.

Flick through to see who made the Championship team of the week from the fixtures played from Friday, November 3 to Sunday, November 5.
