Cardiff City v Bristol City injury news as nine out and two doubts - gallery

Latest injury and team news ahead of the Severnside Derby between Cardiff City and Bristol City at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Bristol City travel to South Wales for the second time this season as they face Cardiff City in the Severnside Derby on Saturday, October 28.

The Robins are hoping to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat to Ipswich Town on Wednesday night. Nigel Pearson’s side had a few opportunities to draw level following Nathan Broadhead’s effort, and saw Harry Cornick’s shot cleared off the line as they fell to a defeat despite a spirited performance.

Hosts Cardiff meanwhile played a day earlier on Tuesday night and beat Huddersfield Town 4-0 at the John Smith’s Stadium. Former City loanee Callum Robinson opened the scoring and then Dimitrios Goutas, Yakou Meite and Perry Ng all got in on the act. At the 13-game stage of the season Cardiff are six places higher than Bristol City however only two points separate the two sides and a win would see them overtake them on Saturday.

Bristol City’s preparations have been far from ideal and Cardiff’s players will have been afforded a days more rest than them. Two more injury concerns emerged from the defeat to Ipswich, and that adds to an ever-growing injury list. The situation does look like it will improve over the next fortnight or so but there are several players that look set to miss the trip across the Severn Bridge on Saturday.

Without further ado, here’s the latest injury and team news from the Bristol City and Cardiff City camps ahead of the Severnside Derby. Flick through to see who’s missing, and who’s a doubt.
