The most expensive estimated League One combined XI - including Bristol Rovers, Derby, Reading & Peterborough Utd aces - gallery

This is said to be the most valuable side that can be fielded from League One clubs ahead of the start of the new season.

We're officially into the 2023/24 season now, with the summer transfer window now open to every club. The fixtures are out, the kits are being released, and the league season is just a month away.

Bristol Rovers were one of the teams to begin their pre-season schedule early, and they thrashed Melksham Town 9-0 in front of 2,000 spectators last Friday. The Gas are in action again this weekend, as they travel to ambitious National League outfit Eastleigh at The Silverlake Stadium. We've seen three signings made so far, and a fourth is expected to follow with George Friend currently on trial, and hoping to earn a deal following his departure from Birmingham City.

Some clubs have also been busy, and this looks to be quite a wide open division next year. There's a few former Premier League teams like Derby County, Charlton Athletic, Portsmouth, and Bolton Wanderers, but there's also some ambitious teams, who have yet to play in the Prem since its inception in 1992, but have ambitions of reaching the Championship.

League One is home to clubs with different transfer approaches, but over the years we've seen a lot of money spent in the division. You only have to look at Ipswich Town who spent what they needed to get out of the division, and are now being tipped to compete for a play-off spot this season. Portsmouth are leading the way when it comes to transfer business with eight new arrivals, including transfer target Gavin Whyte, but are any of their players in the League One most expensive XI?

Transfermarkt, a website that has valuations on players, has given us their most valuable League One XI. What do you think?
