Speaking on ITV’s EFL highlights show, pundit Clinton Morrison has heaped praise on Bristol Rovers ace Scott Sinclair. The winger scored the only goal of the game for the Gas yesterday as they beat Peterborough United 1-0 at home.

Joey Barton’s side are in decent form at the moment and are only six points off the play-offs. They have lost just once in their last nine league outings.

Sinclair, 33, made the move back to the Memorial Ground on a free transfer last month after a few months weighing up his options following his departure from Preston North End at the end of last term. He has been a hit so far and his quality is starting to shine through.

Pundit Morrison has been impressed and has said:

“I played with him at Crystal Palace, he’s had a fantastic career. That’s two goals in his last three games, it is his first league goal since he has been back at Bristol Rovers.

“He’s been brilliant, Scott Sinclair. It’s where he first started so I am so happy for him.”

Sinclair has said, as per the club’s Twitter page:

“It means so much to me scoring my first league goal and made it even better scoring at The Thatchers End and also having my girls at the game. It was a great team performance and we had chances to make it more.

“We can go into the next game full of confidence.”

Sinclair rose up through the academy ranks at Bristol Rovers before being lured away by Chelsea as a youngster back in 2005. His career has gone full circle now after spells with the likes of Swansea City, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Celtic.

The Pirates are in good spirits at the moment and luring their former player back is proving to be a great decision. They are back in action on Wednesday away at Colchester United in the Papa Johns Trophy.
