Bristol Rovers will be without midfielder Paul Coutts with the former Sheffield United man picking up an ankle injury before the clash against the Pilgrims last time out. He now faces a spell on the sidelines and the exact length of time he is unavailable is expected to be determined this week.

Striker John Marquis returned to training near the end of last week but remained out of the 18-man squad against Steven Schumacher’s side. Barton has a decision to make on whether to bring him back into the fold for the next clash.

The same applies with defender James Connolly, who has also been out of action recently. The 20-year-old joined on a permanent basis over the summer from Cardiff City after impressing on loan last term and the Pirates won’t want to rush him back in.

Sheffield Wednesday

Defender Ben Heneghan and midfielder Will Vaulks went off for Sheffield Wednesday in their last match against Lincoln City and as per Yorkshire Live, will be assessed. The pair have both featured regularly so far in this campaign.
