Bristol Rovers after three consecutive home games are on the road as they travel to the Peninsula Stadium to face Salford City.

After picking up four points from an available six in the league whilst booking their place in the next round of the FA Cup, the Memorial Stadium is slowly becoming the fortress that Joey Barton wants it to be.

The Gas are unbeaten in their last four league games on the road so keeping up that form will be key if they want to propel themselves up the league table.

Their opponents Salford City are below them by two points and given the investment of their owners the Class of 92, are perhaps not matching their early season expectations.

They are however on a four-game unbeaten run and won 2-0 at Harrogate Town on the weekend.

This is the first competitive meeting between the two sides, given Rovers have floated in and around from League One to the Conference whilst Salford have had a fast rise to the Football League.

Alfie Kilgour was substituted before the hour mark on Saturday and has been sent for a knee scan so a potential change could see Nick Anderton come in.

He would line up alongside Cian Harries and on-loan Stoke City defender Connor Taylor.

There is a decision for Barton to make on whether Luke Thomas comes in for Sion Spence, Spence impressed in the FA Cup with a brace but he may want to rejig things. The striking situation still hasn’t eased so Sam Nicholson should continue to lead the line.

Given this is the third game in seven days, there may be a case for rotation from Barton with the likes of Paul Coutts, Sam Finley and Antony Evans, as well as others who have all started in the last three games.

Rovers though should be in fine condition for tonight’s match given they trained at Wigan Athletic’s training ground on Monday and stayed in a hotel, which means less travelling on the day of the game.

What’s the latest team news for Salford City?

Tom King, Corrie Ndaba, Luke Burgess, D’Mani Mellor and Ian Henderson are all on the sidelines with numerous injuries but the former is close to returning to the training ground.

Tom Elliot, Ash Hunter and Matty Willock are back on the training ground but Tuesday’s game might be too soon.

Marcus Dackers, Kevin Berkoe, Ibou Touray and Tyreik Wright all returned for the defeat to Harrogate, so expect them to play against Rovers.

This season ten players have been on the mark for Salford but only Tom Elliot and Matty Lund have scored more than twice.

Is the match on TV?

As this is a midweek fixture, fans will be able to buy an iFollow match pass for £9.99 and watch Rovers from the comfort of their own home if they are unable to attend.

Over 500 tickets have been sold for the away end in Salford, so they will be packed by a respectable following.

How can I watch highlights?

The EFL on Quest isn’t on Quest TV this evening, so keep an eye out for the goals on Sky Sports News, as they will show the goals late at night. Alternatively, the highlights will also be available after midnight on the YouTube channels of Bristol Rovers and Salford City.
