League One golden boot 2022/23: Every club’s top scorer predicted as Peterborough, Bolton and Sheffield Wednesday men expected to excel

With just over a week until the start of the League One season, experts have made a guess at who will be the top scorer at each of the 24 clubs

Finding a prolific striker at League One level is important if you want to be successful for the coming campaign.

The men who lead the line are more often than not the players who finish as the top scorers with a lot of expectation and burden placed on their shoulders.

Some clubs in the division can go out and break the bank to go and find a striker that they hope will get into double digits, whilst others have to hope that the players they have at their disposal already can find the net.

There are differing levels of qualities on every team’s front line with some being accustomed to the third tier whilst for others, they’ve either played at a higher level like the Championship, or are out to prove themselves after performing in the division below in League Two.

Peterborough United for example have former Bristol Rovers striker Jonson Clarke-Harris in their ranks and during his time at the Memorial Stadium he was prolific, which earned him a big money move to London Road.

Former Premier League clubs Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday meanwhile are just two teams that are perhaps playing at a level below them and they’ve got some strikers which are more than capable of scoring goals aplenty this season.

But how does the rest of the division compare? With just a week until the season begins on July 30, owing to an earlier start because of the World Cup, league experts have tried to predict who they think will win the Golden Boot in the division.

All 24 teams have a candidate with some standing on their own whilst for others it can’t be separated. Do you think these predictions are correct or is there someone which is being underrated?
