How many miles Bristol Rovers fans will travel to each League One ground next season - including trips to Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday

The geographical make-up of League One will be kinder to the bank balance of Bristol Rovers’ fans this season

Bristol Rovers fans will be racking up the miles on the road again in League One next season after being promoted with a kinder mixture of teams.

Using the Memorial Stadium in Horfield as a starting point, Gas fans will travel up to 6237.2 miles on the road this season if they’re using a car or coach as transport to each of their 23 away games.

It’s actually less miles than what they did last season with Gasheads fans making more than 7,200 miles last year. There’s no more extremely northern games like Carlisle United and instead their furthest away fixture this year is at Morecambe in Lancashire.

The shortest journey this season is against a familiar foe in League Two champions Forest Green, whilst Cheltenham Town are the other team which is under the 100-mile round-trip this season.

It’s a 271 mile-round trip to fallen Wayne Rooney’s Derby County, who will have a target on their back given their historic status under Brian Clough.

It’s not long until the fixtures are released with it being just three weeks until fans can start mapping out what they’ll be doing from late July to May.

There will also be games played during the World Cup, which runs through November and December, so hopefully the fixture list will be kind to them to avoid missing any of the Three Lions’ matches.

Below are the distances that Rovers will be making in the 2022/23 League One next season. Are there any games you’re most looking forward to?
